Chakra and her fur sister, Jada, are currently receiving treatment for dog scabies, a condition caused by itch mites that live in their hair follicles. They have been examined by a veterinarian and started on medication to address the issue. Since scabies can spread to other pets, the sisters need to be kept away from other animals for the next few weeks as their treatment continues. Although the mites can jump onto humans, they cannot survive on us due to their host-specific nature. However, they can cause itchy bumps from their bites.While Chakra and Jada are available for adoption, potential adopters need to understand the importance of keeping them isolated from other pets for a bit longer.
