Female Dog, Terrier

Terrier / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Please contact MaT for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Angel is a 3-5 year old female Terrier mix who weighs in at 15 pounds. This dog's adoption fee is $400. If you are still interested, please read more below. Angel is a very loving dog. She loves nothing more than snuggling in a comfy dog bed or next to you on the couch or in a chair. She eats well and is the most pitiful beggar for your people food. She is so sweet! Angel is also a bit dominant and well, she’s a terrier. While she prefers to be the boss, she can relent to a resident dog after a few days. She will try to eat the other dog's food, as well as her own. Angel shows a desire to play with other dogs her size or smaller and has played appropriately with a foster’s resident dog. Angel would do best in a home with other like sized or smaller dogs. She might be fine with bigger dogs; this has not been tested. Angel will need to be adopted to a home with another dog. She has not been observed around cats. Angel loves following her humans around the house and going wherever they go. The more settled she gets, the less following there seems to be. Angel is very peppy and active. She would be happiest in a family with children so there are plenty of humans to share her love with. She loves running around to chase a ball and she loves jumping into anybody's lap to get pets and hugs. She misses her humans when they leave but seems to settle after a while. Having humans home more often than not would be ideal. Angel is a barker. Sometimes she doesn’t even know what she is barking at, but she is getting a bit better with correction and rewards. If an adopter works all day out of the home, Angel may bark on and off at noises. Angel is fully potty trained but may have a few accidents initially due to the change. Give her time to settle in, and she is with it. Angel is terrified of being in a crate/cage. Her ideal home will have a space she can be gated in, such as the kitchen or a bedroom. Angel is terrific about walking on her leash, although she does bark at other dogs. It is essential that Angel's new family has a fenced-in yard; she is quick and would run free if not in a fenced environment. Her underbite is beautiful and her eyes will look deeply into yours …. when she wants something. She really just wants as much love and comfort as you can handle. Angel is a gem! She is longing to soak up your love and attention. Check out this cute video of Christmas Angel: https://youtube.com/shorts/VvlLxPc3LSw?si=rRdlv9qSfUZ-rMWg Angel is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, 90% housetrained, and spayed. This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing. We are based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events. Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop!
