Description:
Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation.STRAY ~ NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 3/10/2025: Elska - female - approx DOB 12/10/2025 - 8.8 pounds - Dachshund mix Reason for intake: Elska was found March 8th, outside of Ghostfire Tattoo on Market Street, Shreveport. She was posted on social media and we also posted her but no one came forward. We took her in on 3/10/2025. We notified Caddo Parish Animal Services that we have her so they can put her in their system. She is not microchipped. We did send her to our vet because she was missing some hair. The skin scrape was negative so may be flea related OR her scratching due to the ear mites she was infested with (of which she was treated for). Once stray hold is up, she'll head to our vet for everything she needs. If an owner comes forward, they will be REQUIRED to reclaim her THROUGH CPAS and pay the reclamation fee. They cannot reclaim her through us. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life.
