Milena (NOT YET AVAILABLE-STRAY)
Status: Last posted as 'available' on 03/04/25

Female Dog, Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie

Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Maltese / Mixed (Long Coat)

Description:

Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation.NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION STRAY NEW INTAKE 3/3/2025: Milena - female - approx 1 year old - 12.4 pounds - Yorkie/Maltese Reason for intake: Milena was found with Carita in Forest Hills (Haughton) the evening of March 2nd by a lady. Her niece contacted us but apparently, they got away or were let loose by the first person... whereby they were found by a second couple driving home. They also contacted us. They kept them overnight and brought them to us yesterday (March 3). Both are matted but Milena is severely matted with a huge solid mound of matting on her back. They both had long nails and matted/dirty ears. Interestingly, there were a bunch of dogs dumped in Doyline the same time and we're wondering if the bigger dogs were all dumped in Doyline and these were dumped in Forest Hills because of their size. We're not sure and of course, we are just speculating. We have contacted animal control and they have put them in their system to start legal stray hold, which will be up on Friday. If no one comes forward, they will be heading to our vet the week of March 10. IF someone comes forward, they will be required to reclaim them THROUGH Bossier City Animal Control, explain why they look the way they do AND pay a reclamation fine. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
