Kona is a 9-year-old, 48-pound Pit mix who has been a beloved member of our family since we adopted her from BARCS when she was just two. While this is a difficult decision for us, Kona's recent behavior around our baby has led us to conclude that she would thrive in a different environment. We're hoping to find her the perfect home where she can be safe, happy, and loved. About Kona: Age: 9 years old Breed: Pit mix Weight: 48 lbs Color: Orange and white Kona's Ideal Home: No Other Pets: Kona does best as the only pet in the home. She’s calm on a leash during walks but prefers not to interact with other dogs. She also hasn’t been around cats or other small animals. People: Kona needs a slow, gentle introduction when meeting new people. She thrives in a quiet, low-key home without children. When we have visitors, we typically let her relax in a separate space. Medical Needs: Kona has hypothyroidism, which is easily managed with affordable daily medication, and she takes it without any trouble.
