Description:

Hi, it’s nice to meet you, I’m LeBron, a 3 year old, 17 lb., dachshund/chi mix. I don’t remember much about my former life, but I’m glad to be with A Home of Their Own Animal Rescue to find my forever home. I’m a little shy around new people given all the changes I’ve been through. I’ve been in a couple of foster homes before, and I discovered that I feel more comfortable around adults and older children. Younger children scare me with their quick, sometimes unpredictable movements.I am looking for a forever home that is quiet, patient and loving. I am housetrained so that's a plus! I like crates because they feel so cozy and safe. That said, I may need some coaxing in the beginning to get out of my crate and into the world. Like LeBron James, I jump up high in the sky and am very high energy so will do best in a home with people that are active and can give me plenty of exercise and enrichment! That's why my foster dad named me LeBron! Also, a home with people that are home often would be nice too because I tend to get attached to my people. They make me feel safe!I'm still working on being protective of my people. I try to remember that no one is going to take them from me but it's definitely a work in progress. I know I will grow used to being around new faces; I just need people that will be patient with me so I can learn to feel safe and secure in this world.I’m a sensitive guy with a big heart once I trust someone. Are you that forever trustworthy person I’m looking for?!
