Hound / Mixed

Description:

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: YesGood with kids: Yes, dog-savvy kidsCrate trained: YesHouse Trained: YesMetro NYC is a sensitive, affectionate hound-mix with a silky black-and-brindle coat and ears that feel like velvet. He tends to be shy on initial greetings, but warms up quickly and is the snuggliest companion. Metro can occupy himself with a bone or toy, and enjoys a good game of rope toss or fetch. One of his favorite pastimes is rummaging through the toy bin in the never-ending quest to find the perfect plaything. After a proper introduction, Metro enjoys romping around with other playful pups. He is learning to take cues from dogs and does best with pups of similar energy. He would do well in either an only-dog or multi-dog household, particularly with a social companion who can show him the ropes. Metro can be overwhelmed by new experiences or busy areas. He would benefit from a patient owner who can provide some structure and training to build his confidence. He is intelligent and eager to learn new skills, particularly when rewarded with high-value treats and ample praise. He has mastered commands like sit, down, and will offer his paw when asked for "shake." Metro is crate-trained and settles quickly during the day and night. He is house-trained and typically signals when he needs to go outside, though may have occasional accidents in a new environment. This lovable, sweet boy will surely have you falling in love with him in no time- are you ready to welcome him home? Please Note: All dogs are posted on our website until they are officially adopted.
