He does not like to be left alone in his crate at any time, but loves to have a couch to sleep on and a window to look out when his humans are away.Potty trained: Yes. If there are bells hanging from the doorknob he knows to ring them if he wants to go out.Kids:No small children, but respectable teenagers would be fine with a proper introduction.Other animals:He LOVES other dogs and meshes well with all different play styles! He has lived with and warmed up to cats but would most likely do better in a home without them.Energy level:Moderate to high energy. He currently goes to daycare twice a week for a few hours at a time and does well if he gets exercise in. Loves to snuggle and snooze after playtime or a long walk.House or apartment:House or large apartment would be idealStory/background: Boone originally came to ASAP from a different rescue, which was believed to have been a hoarding situation. He currently lives with two women and two male cats. His adopters quickly realized that it wasn’t a good match as he needs to go slow with new people. With his timid nature, he tends to jump and bark at people he is unfamiliar with. He does warm up to people easier outside of his home, but his adopters ultimately decided that he needed to live somewhere that doesn’t have frequent visitors, or has a designated safe space/fenced in backyard he can play in if people are over. He is currently on anxiety medication (Trazodone) to help with training but has slowly been weaning off of it as long term use is not recommended. Since he is still a puppy, he does jump when excited but his current owners have been working to have him go to the couch first before he receives pets and kisses. Boone is a very sweet, quiet, goofy, and loving dog to his current family. He loves to swim and go to Starbucks for pup cups. He knows to sit, stay, paw, lay down, and come (still working on that one). He likes to play with his toys and keep watch out the window. He does well in the car and enjoys taking long walks - does great on leash. He loves to be outside and playing with other dogs, which is why we think he would really come out of his shell with a playful and confident doggy sibling. He has big goofy ears that are very expressive and he loves to give kisses when you come in the door. He is intensely loyal once he earns your trust and would be a great adventure dog!Ideal home/family lifestyle: Boone would do best with a family without small children, but could be okay with teenagers that would respect his space. He is more anxious around men but could warm up to a man that lives in the home. He would do well if he lived with a playful and confident dog that could show him the way. He currently lives in a home that does not have a fenced in backyard, but does well on his lead and loves to roll around in the grass and play frisbee. He is very motivated by treats but will graze on his regular food throughout the day. He is very energetic and is more relaxed if he is able to go on frequent walks/has time to play outside or with other dogs.
