Description:

Meet Tuck! Tuck is a 7-month-old bully mix with a heart as big as his personality. This sweet boy weighs in at 30 pounds and has already proven himself to be a survivor. His journey hasn’t been easy, but he’s come out the other side ready to find his forever home. Tuck and an older female dog, Nala, appeared on a vet client’s property, looking for a safe place to stay. Shortly after, it became clear that Tuck needed medical help. The client couldn’t afford his care and opted to relinquish him rather than face euthanasia. Thankfully, Tuck’s story took a turn for the better. Tuck underwent surgery to repair a rectal prolapse and is now thriving in his foster home. His potential adopter should be aware of his history and understand how to avoid situations that could lead to straining or digestive upset. Since his repair, Tuck hasn’t experienced any issues and continues to enjoy life as a happy, playful pup. Tuck also has a unique story etched into his back paw, where two of his toes show signs of a previous injury—likely from something wrapped around them at birth, such as an umbilical cord. But don’t worry—this doesn’t slow him down one bit! Tuck’s Strengths: • Great with Kids: Tuck adores children of all ages but would do best with older kids who understand his enthusiasm for toys. He’s learned not to jump and loves to play, but his excitement might be a bit much for the littlest ones. • Fantastic on a Leash: Walks are a breeze with Tuck! • People-Loving: He’s never met a person he didn’t like and will eagerly sit by your side, hoping for a treat or a cuddle. • Food-Motivated Genius: Tuck is highly food-motivated, making training sessions both fun and productive. Let’s Talk About Tuck’s Toys:Tuck loves his toys—especially stuffed or squeaky ones—and sometimes gets so excited about them that he doesn’t want to share. While he’s not aggressive, he’s quick to grab a toy from your hand, so it’s important to give him space when he’s playing. This excitement can lead to accidental nips if someone tries to grab a toy he’s focused on. With clear boundaries and supervision, Tuck’s love for his toys can easily be managed, and he’ll happily settle in with his favorite squeaky friend. Considerations for Tuck’s Forever Home: • Dog Dynamics: Tuck hasn’t found his canine soulmate yet and prefers to play solo. He could thrive as the only dog in the household, or with a dog he truly clicks with after proper introductions. • Active Lifestyle: Tuck’s energy makes him a great fit for a home with a yard to romp in and an owner who can match his zest for life. The Ideal Home:Tuck would do best in a home with older children or adults who understand his love for toys and playful nature. A yard to explore and a devoted human to bond with are at the top of his wish list. While he loves people, his playful alpha personality means he’ll thrive with an owner who can continue his training and keep him engaged. Tuck’s best buddy, Nala, is also looking for her forever home through Sandy Paws Rescue. Though they don’t need to be adopted together, both Tuck and Nala are hoping to find loving families to call their own. Tuck is ready to find a home where he can continue to grow, play, and be the amazing dog he was meant to be. Could that home be yours? Apply to adopt Tuck today!
