Description:
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. Presenting Anyu and JJ! These 2 beautiful pugs are a bonded pair, meaning they share a close connection and need to be adopted together. Each has a unique personality, but they bring out the best in each other, making them a perfect duo for a loving family. Meet Anyu! Anyu is a striking 16 lb female pug with an eye-catching brindle coat, born on February 25th, 2022. At just over 2 years old, she is a gentle soul who approaches life with curiosity and care. She is cautious at first, but once she feels secure, she is a true loving companion who is happiest close to her people. With a calm and curious demeanor, Anyu enjoys long walks and is currently learning not to pull on the leash. She's a quick learner, especially with commands like "sit". She does occasionally experience some separation anxiety if she is separated from her bestie JJ. They are happiest together. UTD and spayed, Anyu is a healthy and active young pug. She tolerates activity well with no issue with stamina on her long walks. As with any pugs, caution should be taken in extreme temperatures. Meet JJ (Juliette Jr)! JJ is a beautiful brindle pug weighing 20 lbs, born on January 30th, 2023. She's just over a year old and brings a sweet playful presence to her foster home. JJ loves spending time with Anyu and engaging in play with her favorite chew toys. Snuggling together is another favorite pastime, and they can often be found cuddling in a wide variety of configurations. This togetherness is sure to get even sweeter as the temps drop here in New England. JJ has a friendly, playful nature and gets along wonderfully with both people and dogs of all sizes. Neither of the girls has been tested with cats. Like her sister, JJ enjoys long walks and is working on leash manners to avoid pulling. Her ideal family would enjoy her vibrant, friendly energy and would appreciate the curious and sometimes mischievous nature of these 2 friends. They like to spend time exploring and have "found" some non-toy items in the home. For this reason, we think a home with older children would best suit them. Spayed and current on vaccines, JJ has no chronic health issues. Continued well visits, a healthy diet with plenty of exercise and an owner familiar with what to look for as a pug ages will see these girls enjoying the absolute best of the rest! Anyu and JJ's future home will be a warm routine-based environment where the girls can stay close to their people and one another. The girls are currently sleeping in a large crate at night. They go out for their last nightly business, come in and go right to "bed". They were in separate crates at first, but they cried for each other. If their future family wanted to invite them to sleep in bed, we don't think there would be any objections. They also travel well together in a crate in the car. Happily chilling until they reach their destination. After a few accidents when they first arrived, Anyu and JJ are doing much better with potty training. They do need to stick to a schedule for successful training. The girls love spending time in the secured fenced yard of their foster home exploring. Due to their curious nature and desire to explore, we prefer their new home have a fenced yard for safety.
