Female Dog, Pug
Pug / Beagle / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. MEET BISCUIT! Biscuit is a one-year-old Puggle, Pug Beagle mix who was surrendered in love when her owner's work situation changed, and they could no longer spend the time with her that she deserved. Biscuit is a healthy, loving and affectionate girl with a high energy level. Very timid at first, Biscuit warms up quickly and starts looking for love in her time. No issues with cats, showing only a little interest to sniff from time to time. She would do best in a home with no children or older respectful children as she can be startled by fast moving and loud younger children. She does not show any aggression but will run and hide. Fenced yard is required or multiple walks per days if a free roaming option is not available. She would do best in a home with another matching energy level dog but would be fine as an only dog in an active family. She has really enjoyed her time in foster care with the other energetic pug in residence. Biscuit seemingly has boundless energy and a strong sniffer. She is an incredibly loving dog and loves time with her humans getting pets, treats, playing with toys and giving kisses. She currently stays in her crate when her humans are not home for safety's sake and also sleeps in her crate at night although we believe she would love some access to her humans' bed too. Biscuit needs to be supervised with toys and chew bones as all dogs do., so crating or confining to a safe area when not at home will be safest. She does get scared meeting new people and will run away but always comes back as she is curious and will within a few minutes warm up and come in for pets and snuggles with everyone she has met. No aggression at all, just a good bark to let everyone know she's aware of them and that she'll come to you when she's ready. Don't forget she is part Beagle so she's going to tell you a thing or two. Biscuit is potty trained but does have accidents from time to time when she gets excited or a little too scared. She's currently on an every 3-hour schedule to go outside to go potty and this has worked very well. With this in mind, her adopter would need to either work from home or have a dog walker to keep her on schedule. She does best going potty if she goes out on her own because she gets distracted by other dogs as she thinks it's play time when she sees them. Biscuit is a beautiful floppy eared sweetheart who would love to join an active family where she could get plenty of love, exercise and stimulation. BISCUIT'S ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS Fenced yard strongly desired to meet optimal daily zoomie requirements and need for multiple potty breaks.
