Description:

Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. MEET EGGNOG! Typically only available during the holidays, we have a special on SPICED Eggnog! 5-year-old Cali girl Eggnog has the energy of a puppy. She's a bit of an imp and loves to run around and play. She is currently being fostered in a home with 6 other dogs, and she is getting along well with all of them. If she gets a little too in anyone's face, a quick corrective message from the other canine is respected. She does love to be in the spotlight and will try and hog the attention of her foster dad who she has become quite fond of. There is also a flying cockatiel in her foster home that she was quite curious about. Once she learned they were part of the pack, she stopped giving chase, but there is some prey drive there. She has not been tested with cats. Eggnog has spent time in a crate during her trek east so if needed for safety as she adapts to her new surroundings, she should be fine, but given her druthers, she wants to snuggle up in the big bed with her humans. You may be shocked to learn that Eggnog is VERY into food. She gobbles up her own food and runs to all the other bowls, so she is being fed separate from her foster siblings. She also has a penchant for breaking into the trash and trying to open cupboards. Covered, secured trash cans and puppy proofing the home will be a must with this little devil. We have footage of Eggie running around in the yard back home like a cheetah, but she really does not prefer to go outside here in New England. A little nudge and staying outside with her until she does her business has been necessary. We are confident once the weather warms up, she will be very happy to go out into a fenced area to get her zoomies on. Eggnog can be quite mouthy. She does not bite down but when excited she will grab hands with her mouth. For this reason, we will be seeking a home with children 12 and older. She is a very smart girl and will stop this behavior when told to. She knows sit and stay, will come when called and is working on down. She likes to play with soft and hard toys, especially when her foster dad engages with her. She loves a car ride and will hop right in the car. Everyone who meets Eggnog loves her! She's one of those sassy pugs you just can't ignore. Eggnog is spayed, UTD on vaccines and flea tick and heartworm preventatives and is microchipped. During her spay surgery prior to coming into rescue, Eggnog went into cardiac arrest briefly. It is recommended that she have a cardiology consult prior to any future necessary surgical procedures. Good dental hygiene will be important for Eggnog and non-surgical dental cleanings might be explored. Think you are ready to invite this adorable West Coast cutie into your home? Please complete an application if you match her criteria. If you have completed an application in the past 6 months, you can just complete the approved/in process form to alert our adoption team to your interest in Eggnog.
