Male Dog, Pug
Pug (Short Coat)
Description:
Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. Meet Finnigan! Finnegan is a 3-year-old perfect pug. This young lad does all things pug very well. He snuggles, he likes cheese and is very playful but also loves a nice nap. He enjoys humans and other dogs with proper introductions. We do not have any data with cats, but if your cat is a dog person, Finnigan would probably be a cat person. Finnegan loves to play tug and run with his Puggle foster siblings all around the yard. He is making big improvements on his leash walking and is easily redirected to keep up with the pack. But he is also following their lead when it comes to barking at other dogs on a walk; if they bark, he barks. Because he is a curious guy and still working on his recall (read: He comes for cheese, but not because you told him to) we think Finnigan would do best with a fenced yard. Being food motivated; we believe he will respond well to continued training. He currently knows sit and is working on lay down and stay. Finnigan is currently crate trained for safety when the humans are out of the house, but he hasn’t shown any destructive behaviors. He is a champ at peeing outside but needs routine for #2. Be prepared to accompany him outdoors on a rainy day to ensure he gets his business done. It's a pug thing. Finn is getting better at indicating he needs to go out and keeps a pretty predictable schedule for potty needs. Finnigan would make a perfect all-season dog. He loves chasing falling leaves, sunbathing in the summer sun and strongly agrees with a good cuddle session on the couch with a soft blanket. His eyes and little bark can melt anyone's heart. Finnigan is a very good boy, and he can't wait to have a family to call his own! Adoption requirements for FINNIGAN Fenced yard preferred or secured plan Dog savvy children welcomed Daily walks with continued reinforcement of leash manners Patience and understanding as Finnigan continues to improve with his house training, to include a plan for potty breaks no more than 4 hours apart Finnigan would love the companionship of another friendly dog, but could be the object of all attention if his people were home much of the time Commitment to meeting all ongoing lifetime medical needs to include annual well visits and monthly flea, tick and heartworm prevention Finnigan's adoption fee based on his age is $600 If you believe you are the BEST home for FI NNIGAN please fill out an application!
