Female Dog, Pug

Pug / Beagle / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Pug Rescue of New England (PRoNE) is a non-profit 501(c)(3), all volunteer foster home based rescue organization. Welcome Mille! She is a 6-year-old 40 lb Puggle who came into rescue when her owner could not keep her due to changes in their living arrangements. It was a heartbreaking decision as Millie was very loved, and it shows! We have found that many puggles tend to lean heavily toward the Beagle traits, but not in Millie's case. She is convinced she is all pug. Especially when it comes to food! We are working on trimming her down and she has already shed a few pounds with a healthy diet and exercise. Just don't call her late for dinner, she will let you know. Also, she's not falling for any of that fruit and veggies for bulk business. Millie is extremely intelligent, house trained, playful and great on leash. She has not shown any separation anxiety and loves to go for rides in the car. In fact, when she hears the leash or the car keys, she comes running! Millie is great with other dogs, kids and even cats. She is very curious and will follow them around the house hoping for some playtime, but one dirty look and she backs right off. Millie loves to sleep in the bed with her people and would really love it if you let her under the covers to cuddle. She also loves dog beds, rugs and even the floor. Millie will nap anywhere! For fun, Millie loves to go outside to chase a ball, play with the dogs or simply find a spot to lay in the sun. She lets you know when she needs to go out by standing at the door and letting out a little bark. She likes to let you know someone is passing by the house with a BIG bark. We are working on that. She could be billed as an excellent watch dog! Another thing we are working on with Millie is having her take treats a little more gently, but she can catch a flying treat from across the room! Quite an impressive party trick. For her size, Millie is very athletic. She can jump up onto the highest bed and do laps around the yard with the big dogs. She tolerates long walks and hikes no problem. Someone to get your steps in with! Millie is the total package. She would love a big busy family with lots of activity but could also settle into a quiet home with one or two humans to spoil her. She is easy, lovable and fun! A fenced yard would be great, but no necessary as long as she gets out on her walks and some fun rides for adventure.
