Female Dog, Pit Bull Terrier
Pit Bull Terrier (Medium Coat)
Description:
Brindi is uncomfortable with strangers and warms up to them slowly, she is much more comfortable with dogs and having a buddy to help her feel safe might help ease the transition to her new living situation. She enjoys attention from those she feels safe with, and has been a rockstar while walking on leash with staff.OTHER PETS: Brindi is much more comfortable and confident with other dogs than with humans; she remains calm and invites play. She will likely get along with other dogs but to ensure a good match she should meet any dogs she would be living with prior to adoption. Likely (Must Meet First) OWNER EXPERIENCE: First Dog *Bonus* We believe Brindi is housebroken, but will need time to transition in a new envrironment. KIDS: Brindi is slow to trust humans and uncomfortable with most handling; she is more comfortable with those she has established a trust bond with but such bonds take time and patience. Brindi's best fit would be in a home with older teens who can support her during her transition and help her settle in and build trust on her own time. 15+ (Must Meet First)ACTIVITY LEVEL: Brindi is playful with other dogs and does well walking on leash. Daily walks would ensure she gets to exercise her muscles and her sniffer, she enjoys being with people and would make a good adventure pal with appropriate, positive training. Good Walking Buddy VETERINARY CARE: Routine LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Brindi bond with her new owner as well as well as help her learn important skills - Brindi already walks well on a leash and we believe she is housebroken (she'll still need to transition in a new home). Further positive training could open up additional recreational opportunities for Brindi. Minimal GROOMING: Minimal
