Female Dog, American Pit Bull Terrier

American Pit Bull Terrier / American Staffordshire Terrier (Short Coat)

Description:

Meet Piper! This 7-years young teeny tiny pittie came to us after her owner lost their housing and could no longer care for her – something we are seeing far too often. It breaks our hearts that she had an owner who loved her beyond words…one who surrendered her from a place of love. While we can’t change the injustices of the world, we can focus on finding the best possible match for Piper to live out her years! Piper is cat- and dog-friendly, full of wags and wiggles, and exudes the sweetness and size of a cotton candy jellybean. She is mellow, loving, friendly, and if we’re honest, just a bit lazy. She does like being outside and will never turn down a neighborhood stroll, but napping is still her favorite pastime. And at 45 compact lbs, she is an absolute dream on leash! Piper loves to snuggle and be close to her humans and will charmingly worm her way under your arm on the couch or in bed to get the best snuggle spot to watch The White Lotus. “Piper, noooooo!” is something you’ll never say to this amazing and well-behaved gal. She sits on the back of the couch like a cat, loves to be under the blankets, and will gladly inhabit a blanket fort. Piper is shy and demure at first but quickly warms up to show you the energy of a toddler on a sugar rush, but it only lasts for 20-30 seconds of zoomies and play bows, then it’s back to the couch for a nap. Little Pip is like a little gooey gumdrop, or a miniature sugarplum, and we swear her heart glows like the light of a million fairies. She has the littlest underbite and with her tiny chin protruding, looks almost like a child on the verge of tears. This good-natured goober is totally housetrained, non-destructive, and has all the fantastic attributes of a mature pup. She will stare you down if she has to go outside, appreciates an audience while eating, and loves to carry socks around the house (just cause she can!). Because of a lack of history, older kids would be best for this laid-back little lady. Piper’s top 3 priorities: 1. Piper would love a quiet and calm home. After all, she can’t be too distracted as she naps. 2. Piper is a bed connoisseur! She has honed the skill of finding the perfect spot by your feet or under your arm and snuggling in for the duration, so a home looking for cuddles is a must! 3. Piper would love a patient adopter who will give her some time to settle in. This is true for every dog, but especially true for her since she had the same family since she was a tiny puppy, and they were all she ever knew.
