Treeing Walker Coonhound (Short Coat)
Description:
Frank is an older gent who was surrendered to us on 4/21/2024 due to his owner's health issues. This good ol' coonhound is 9 years old now and did live most of his former life outside. He was trained to hunt coyotes and has a few scars to show it. He's a big and strong dude with a kind and somewhat mellow disposition. He has been vet checked, neutered, chipped, and his fee is $150. We think Frank would make a nice companion for someone who has the space for him - space being the key word. He enjoys the great outdoors, ambling around looking for adventure. He doesn't ask for a lot and is very loyal. As a hound he definitely follows his nose so a secure environment is important. He would do best in an adult only home. Teens are fine. He is accustomed to the company of other dogs. Cats are a no. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
