Male Dog, Coonhound

Coonhound (Short Coat)

Description:

Guthrie is an approximately 1 to 2 year old coonhound who was found as a stray in a rural area. No one claimed him so he's on the hunt for a new home. He's a happy fellow who likes people and seems okay with other dogs. He came to us already neutered but we will get him vet checked, chipped, and vaccinated. His fee is $150. As a hound, Guthrie is probably controlled a bit by his nose. Everything smells so interesting! Because of this he'll need a somewhat secure environment. We do think he'd do okay with other dogs and kids. Cats? We have no way of knowing. Hounds generally make pretty good companions and can make life pretty fun. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and is approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Keep an eye on your emails if you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
