Male Dog, Australian Shepherd
Australian Shepherd (Medium Coat)
Description:
BREED EXPERIENCE NEEDED. Mickey is a purebred Australian shepherd who was surrendered to us on 4/2/2024 as his original owner was having health issues and could no longer care for him. He's a happy and bouncy young dog who does require some basic training. He's very smart and eager to learn. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $150. Mickey was adopted and returned recently after a few months. His herding instincts did prove to be too strong when he was around smaller animals and young kids. He does require a lot of physical and mental exercise. Mickey is a definite "velcro dog", who wants to be with his people as much as possible. He's energetic, happy, loving and affectionate. He's looking for a home that is experienced with herding breed types and willing and able to give him the exercise and mental stimulation that he needs. Mickey has done well with other dogs of similar size and energy level. He would do best in a home without smaller animals, especially cats. An adult only home would be best (teens are fine). NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Please keep an eye on your emails after you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
