Female Dog, Shepherd

Shepherd / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Hi, I'm Nancy! I was born on May 22nd, 2024, in rescue with a pretty large litter. I have always had other dogs to rely on to build my confidence, so a home with another dog would be the greatest thing! I am a little shy at first but once I trust you, I will follow you everywhere. I recently moved to a new foster home and it took me about 4 days to feel comfortable. When I’m acclimating to a new home, I will run outside and come in but tend to avoid attention for a few days. When I’m nervous with new people, I may growl a little, but that only lasts a short time as I just need time and space. I get along well with other dogs fairly quickly, but I will need a few days to really feel confident. I was introduced to 4 big dogs recently and gave a few cues to tell them I was overwhelmed, and then everything was fine! I love to run around and wrestle with my doggie pals at my foster home. I eat in my kennel and have high-value treats or bones in there also as I like to growl a bit and can be somewhat protective of my food. I love dinner and run to my kennel for dinner time. If no one bothers me while I’m eating, then there are no issues. I like to cuddle and get all the love from my humans. I have a strong desire to learn new things because of my strong appetite. I can sit, lay down, go in and out of my kennel, recall when called, and walk on a leash. I use a gentle leader and do great on walks, but prefer just hanging in a yard. I am fully potty trained, but will have an accident if I’m not on a good schedule. I have not been around small children, but at the recent adoption event, I was very curious about little people! There are chickens at my foster home and I ignore them 100%, so cats may also be ok, although I haven’t been around cats in my foster home. I will sleep in my kennel at night but really love to snuggle with my humans or sleep on a fluffy bed. If I am left to free range at night, make sure you take me out if I start to wander, as that is when some accidents have occurred. I am a very sweet girlie, looking for her new family in the new year! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $575.00
