Description:
LORI HERE.....I had the honor and pleasure of pulling Joey from the Vermilion County, IL shelter and driving him to Indiana and he is just the sweetest and best boy! He jumps right in and rides perfectly in the car. We will update soon on how he is doing with his foster fursiblings as he is on the two week shutdown now and intros and interactions with the others will be taking place soon. Please check back for updated info on this beautiful wigglebutt!!!! 10/24 UPDATE....Joey arrived at his Wisconsin foster home and settled right in! From his foster mom: Joey is doing great in his foster home, he has met 5 other dogs so far and did great. He was a little nervous at 1st which was to be expected, but has since settled into our schedule and does fantastic. Kennels up at night. Loves to play, walks fine and loves all the kids. He would do great with a another dog or someone that is active, he has puppy energy. Very smart!12/21 FOSTER MOM UPDATE...Joey is such a goofy boy and sweetheart! We have a pretty busy house, 4 kids along with 4 dogs, 3 rabbits, a hamster, and 2 fish! We also board dogs in our home. So it is pretty busy all the time. Joey has met about 10 other dogs; boarding dogs are just in our house with all other dogs. We do a little meet and greet for each one and then they pretty much do dog things, play, chew bones or follow us around. Joey sleeps in his kennel at night, but I know he would rather sleep on the couch/bed! He goes from about 9:30pm-5:30/6am. He does know his name. I take about a mile walk in the morning; I walk him with just his collar, no harness. I normally walk him, my boxer and lab all together and he does great. He is fed in his kennel; he likes to lay down and eat! However, he chews bones and gets treats right next to the other dogs. Getting something out of his mouth, is a work in progress, however, get a treat and he drops it very fast. He only chews bones. He likes to be a shadow; you will never have to go to the bathroom alone! Joey is very food motivated! He loves tennis balls, so we only allow those outside. Joey loves to cuddle and be on your lab. If you are outside, he will look for you out every window! He is not a fan of nail trims but I put peanut butter in a cup and while he licks it out I trim his nails, I have found a way around it.
