Boxer (Short Coat)
Description:
From MN foster mom after her first week: Lyla is 100% puppy. She chews on everything. Shoes, socks, toys, chairs, rugs...everything. She has tried counter surfing but we keep things put away so she'll learn. She will get into the trash if you leave it accessible. She loves to play. Since she's super bouncy she'd do better in a home with older children that can't be knocked over. She loves to snuggle. She gets along great with all ages of dogs. She asks to go outside but if you miss her asking she'll potty inside. We currently kennel her when not home as her puppy curiosity gets her into trouble. We've seen no food aggression. She does beg at the table when we are eating but we are working on "no beg" and redirection. She can leap up to 4 feet so a taller fence is recommended.UPDATE FROM HER FOSTER MOM: Turner Towers is helping Lyla find her forever home. She's been hanging her leash here a couple of weeks and here's what we know. She's a champion cuddler. She loves to snuggle and prefers to sleep curled up with her person. She's about a year old and is 100% puppy. She loves to play and chase. She would do great with a sibling a little older than her but one who still loves to play tug. She is potty trained but if you don't let her out quick enough she will have accidents. Since she's still a puppy she can get into mischief so needs to be kenneled when you aren't home. So far she's done great up to 3 hours in a kennel, but don't recommend having her stay in one longer. She isn't food aggressive but gets crappy if there are treats involved, so we don't offer treats in a group. She's learned to sit. She's bouncy and does full speed zoomies so a home with bigger kids would be best because she might accidentally knock over a smaller child. She loves everyone and is learning not to jump on people. She also counter surfs so keeping items out of reach is important. She likes to eat trash, so we keep our garbage can behind a closed door. Everything is a toy to Lyla; socks, shoes, toys, books...you name it. So keeping things you don't want tossed around put away is key. She is still learning "come" and thinks it's a game to evade you outdoors, so a fenced yard is required to keep her safe. She chases cats so no fluffy friends is best. She is absolutely the sweetest girl, about 50 pounds of bouncing love, already fully vetted and spayed, and looking for a home with patience, a fur friend, someone to snuggle and a warm bed. Is Lyla the missing piece of your heart?UPDATE 10/29 from foster mom: Little Miss Lyla did so good at her first big gathering this weekend. She started off in her kennel then went around greeting everyone. This sweet girl needs her own home. We can't help other dogs in need until she finds a perfect home. Lyla is about 1 year old, needs a fenced yard to do zoomies in, and needs a companion dog to play with. She needs to be kenneled when you aren't home as she is curious and counter surfs and can get into trouble. She loves to cuddle and snuggle and loves everyone she meets. She thinks cats are toys so no fluffy friends for this girl. She's house trained but once she tells you it's time you need to let her right out or she might have an accident. She's been kenneled up to 4 hours at a time and does great. We give her a peanut butter filled Kong toy and she trots right in. She's spayed, fully vetted and microchipped.
