Male Dog, Retriever

Retriever

Description:

Meet Mr. Gus, the dashing black retriever with energy to spare and a heart as big as his dreams! This playful dynamo has had quite the adventure to get where he is today. Despite having a microchip, no one came forward to claim him—lucky for us, because now he’s ready for his happily-ever-after with YOU! ✨ When Mr. Gus first arrived, he was a little down on his luck—skinny as a string bean (just 26 lbs when he should be 40-45!) and with some rough patches on his belly and legs. But with some love, care, and the perfect diet, he’s now filling out and feeling fabulous! Mr. Gus has earned the nickname "Mr. Wild Child," and for good reason—this guy is ALL about zoomies, games, and more zoomies! He’s like the life of the puppy party and the self-proclaimed referee of all play sessions. With his imaginary whistle, he’ll call “fouls” and “timeouts” like a pro. He’d love a doggy sibling who’s patient, playful, and okay with his hilarious “coach” routine. At night, Mr. Gus dreams sweet dreams in his crate, and during the day, he’s a free-roaming adventurer. He’s had a few potty training hiccups but has improved so much (gold star for Mr. Gus! ). New people can be a little intimidating at first, but with slow introductions, his personality blossoms into full-on affectionate, goofy mode. Gus was at a temp foster recently and met the cat. Did great! A cat savvy feline friend would work for him. He did do a little chase but handled is correction like a gem. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind gem to keep you laughing, moving, and feeling the love, Mr. Gus might just be your perfect match. Are you ready for all the fun he’s bringing?Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.
