Description:
Meet Honey (affectionately known as Honey Bee and Honey Pot) Before rescue, Honey’s world was confined to producing puppies. She never experienced the warmth of a loving home or the simple joy of being a cherished companion. As a breeder release dog, she is just beginning to discover life outside the confines of a kennel. This new world is both exciting and overwhelming for her, and she needs patience, understanding, and time as she learns how to simply be a dog. Honey is not yet potty trained and will thrive with a structured routine to guide her progress. Her bravery is growing in small, beautiful steps: it took her a full week to walk on the floors of her foster home and two weeks to venture onto the grass. Stairs remain too intimidating, so she’ll need a home without them or adopters who can carry her as she builds confidence. Honey has also never been leashed and will flatten herself to the ground when one is put on her. For this reason, a securely fenced yard is an absolute must—she cannot currently be walked on a leash or placed on a long lead to go potty. Additionally, due to her potty training challenges, Honey is not suited for a rental home, as accidents are inevitable, and many rental agreements have strict policies. What Honey needs most is a confident, well-adjusted dog companion who can show her the ropes, help her feel safe, and teach her that people can be kind. Her ideal home will be calm, nurturing, and filled with adopters ready to celebrate her small victories and offer gentle reassurance. With love and patience, Honey will slowly blossom into the dog she was always meant to be. Helping Honey gain confidence will be a journey of small steps and big rewards.
