Description:
Meet Jenga, the 2 y/o Pit Bull mix who's ready to bring excitement and fun to your life - just like the game sheâs named after! At first, Jenga might seem a little cautious around new people, showing her need for space with a bark or growl. But don't let that first move fool you; once you start building trust, the fun begins! With a little patience and time to warm up, youâll soon discover the high-energy, fun-loving cheerleader she is at heart. Jenga loves to play rough with other dogs and is the life of the pawrty in MACC's playgroup program. Whether it's racing around or wrestling, sheâs always ready for action. When paired one-on-one with a more laid-back dog, she may need a little help from her handler to keep the playtime mutual, as her love for the game of chase can sometimes be a little obnoxious to the unwilling. Luckily, Jenga is very receptive to direction and is eager to please her humans! Here is a link to her playgroup videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLS5FLiVr89soAq-VGh-P9QOKcFn-POvnEJenga doesnât only love to run with dogs; she is more than happy to chase cats, too! This girly got the chance to live with a kitty for a couple of weeks but unfortunately needed to be surrendered because of her relentless pursuit of the fun of the chase. Jenga should only go to a home that has no cats nor other small animals.Jenga is also ready to stack up some new skillsâshe already knows a few basic obedience commands and would love to keep building her knowledge. An obedience class would be the perfect way for her to learn even more, and a great way to strengthen the bond between you and this clever pup! Jenga is also potty trained! She will whine at you or pace in front of the door as a sign that she needs to âgoâ. Jenga is also mostly crate trained; she will walk in the crate when told âJenga crateâ but is initially vocal; thus, apartment living likely isnât her ideal scenario.Jenga is currently being fostered in the home with another (female) small breed dog, a chinchilla, an adult male and woman, and one child. She was initially very fearful of the adult male, but after a few hours of being ignored she settled right in and now prefers him to the adult female, when it comes to snuggle time. She has also done well with the older, dog savvy child in the home.Like a game of Jenga, Jenga's personality is layeredâwhat starts off a bit uncertain can quickly turn into a rewarding, stable relationship with the right approach. With enough patience and time, she can truly be the best dog ever. If youâre looking for a playful, loyal, and energetic companion whoâll be the ultimate partner in fun, Jenga might just be the perfect addition to your life.Jenga is currently soaking in the attention and love of a MACC foster home. To meet her in person, please schedule a meet and greet appointment by calling 612-673-6222 M-F between 9AM-5PM and speak with a MACC staff member.
