Female Dog, Pit Bull Terrier

Pit Bull Terrier / Redbone Coonhound / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Do you have a soft spot for the softies? Then Teddy might be your gal! Teddy is a shy pupper who wants so badly to be social! She has been in a foster home for a few weeks now, and here is what we have learned from her time there: -She needs to be ignored for a couple minutes as she gets to know you, and then she will melt into your lap.-She has been exposed to visitors, including children as young as toddler age, and has done the same with everyone; initial fear (sometimes including barking) quickly followed by ‘please pet me’ eyes once she warms up and sees she is safe. -She loves other dogs and tends to be submissive, so dogs with high prey drive tendencies would be her only no-go.-She enjoys running around her fenced in backyard! She doesn’t need a fenced yard in her adoptive home but would love to go for Sniffspot Sniffari’s if that’s the case.-Much like a teddy bear, she loves a good snuggle session with the humans she trusts.-She has been working on potty training skills; her adopter should plan to give her a few weeks to catch on to the new routine and environment of a new home for this.-She is not currently crated in her foster home and is not destructive there when left alone, but crate training is always recommended to adopters when adding a new pupper to the home!-She is incredibly smart and learns tricks quickly; she has learned Sit, Stay, Shake, Shake with 2 paws, Speak, Lay down.-She could use some work on her leash manners, as right now she is a puller and tries to chase squirrels. She will need someone physically capable of working with her through this learning process.-Ever the neighborhood gossip (we all have our guilty pleasures!), Teddy likes looking out the window to see what the daily happenings are. -Ever the hound, she can be vocal and she does point! So fun to watch! -She loves car rides! If you have the time and dedication capacity to help a wallflower continue to bloom her biggest and brightest self, please set up an adoption appointment to meet Teddy by calling 612-673-6222.
