Description:
Pecan is still being evaluated but this is the information that was given to us: Pecan is a 1-year-old intact male Akbash mix. He has been in the shelter since 8/25/24 with no interest. Pecan had to serve a bite quarantine for a mild bite to a volunteer. The bite was not aggressive in nature he is just very mouthy and doesn’t have a lot of manners. The bite was one tooth scratch mark but did break the skin. Pecan is a young dog who really needs a home that knows what they are doing. It appears he has not had any training or knows any commands. One of our walkers has been working with him and he has improved slightly Pecan is a nice dog, but he is going to take some work. He doesn’t realize how big he is or that mouthing and humping is not ok. He is starting to get miserable here and declining in his kennel due to no interest and only one walker really wanting to take him out. He had a dog meet and greet with a volunteer’s dog friendly dog that went well. He doesn’t quite know how to play yet, but he took corrections from the other dog like a champ
