Male Dog, American Bulldog

American Bulldog / Boxer / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Taz is a charming 9 month old Boxer/Bulldog mix. He is neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and microchipped. He is crate trained, has free run in his foster home 24/7, and is really, really close to being potty trained (his foster needs to pay more attention to his requests to go outside). He just passed Obedience 1 despite having to miss two of the six classes because of his surgery. And he is a super snuggler (and somewhat of a pillow hog when he's allowed to sleep on the bed). Taz was found roaming loose in a neighborhood park. He came running when his foster got out of her car and he jumped up onto her seat before she could approach him. His current owner apparently wasn't looking for him. We were able to track down a previous owner who relinquished him to his current foster home where he's settled in nicely with two other dogs. He loves to play with the 7 year old Aussie/Great Pyr mix -- they race and wrestle and chase off any squirrel brave enough to come into the yard. He's a typical puppy -- unlimited energy, a quick learner, a huge heart, and an endless joy for life. Taz needs a home that can meet his needs for a lot of daily exercise, will commit to additional training, and will have a fair amount of patience for a puppy to grow up. This pup loves everyone he meets but isn't right for a family with young children or who plans to leave him in a crate 8 hours a day. He's probably not good with cats and small pets or people who have mobility issues. He is very physical and could be a great candidate for dog sports like agility or dock diving. If his foster was younger, she would keep him in an instant. But it's not fair to Taz to have to slow down for a senior owner. He deserves an owner who is exuberant about life as he is. To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $250 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs. We do not ship dogs. All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.
