Meet Murray, the baby House Hippo. Murray is a puppy with endless love and lots of energy. He is 6 months old and weighs 33 pounds. He is super affectionate and an A+ snuggler. Murray is an awesome dog with a huge heart. He came to us from the shelter malnourished skin and bones and scared (check out his before picture). He had been on his own for a long time and needed a lot love and stability. Once he was able to feel warm and safe his adorable personality started to shine though. And that personality is why we call him our Baby House Hipppo. Murray grew to his healthy weight in no time. The best part of his journey was seeing him learn how to play with toys. He had to learn how to be a puppy instead of just surviving. It’s been a heartwarming transformation over these last few weeks. Murray is almost fully house trained and does great with a consistent schedule. He loves to play and run and does great with dogs his own size and bigger. He is still learning every day how to be a puppy. He loves lots of toys and long walks. He has a lot of energy but when he powers down he wants to be close to his person safe and snuggled up warm and cozy. He uses a pen here vs a crate. He does well in it while we are gone and it is where he has his meals so it’s a positive experience for him.
