Male Dog, French Bulldog
French Bulldog / Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed
Description:
ADOPT MENickBulldog mix (Olde English? English? Boston? Frenchie?)Male6-7 months oldFully vetted, neutered, 25lbs (and still growing!) Nick was found with his sister on the Mesa, where they spent time fending for themselves. During that tough period, Nick became his sister’s fiercest protector, always looking out for her. Their bond was unbreakable, displaying a strong case of littermate syndrome. But once separated, both pups began to grow more confident and independent. Nick is now flourishing and showing his true personality: a sweet, gentle, and laid-back puppy with a love for cuddles.Though Nick is definitely a puppy at heart, he’s calmer than most, enjoying quiet time and snuggles with his humans. He’s also a bit shy and tends to get overwhelmed in new situations, especially around unfamiliar or larger dogs. He’s currently being fostered with several dogs, both male and female, and he’s slowly coming out of his shell. It took a bit of time for him to learn how to interact with the other dogs, but with his female pitty foster sister by his side (who has taken on a motherly role), Nick is beginning to embrace his playful side. He’s becoming more and more like the silly puppy he was always meant to be!Dogs: Nick can be a little nervous around bigger dogs or dogs he doesn’t know well, but he’s doing better with time and patient introductions. He particularly adores his female pitty foster sister, who has been a calming and nurturing presence in his life. With a smaller, calm dog or an experienced dog sibling, Nick will continue to gain confidence and thrive.Cats: While Nick doesn’t currently live with cats, we believe he could transition well into a home with them. He was introduced to a cat when he first came into rescue, and although he was understandably scared and defensive at the time due to his bond with his sister, he did just fine with the cat. We are happy to cat-test Nick further if you’re interested and have cats in your home.Kids: Nick is best suited for a home with older, calmer children. His shy nature means he can get overwhelmed in high-energy or loud environments, so a quiet, more relaxed household would be ideal.Leash Training: Nick is still working on his leash manners. He can be a bit hesitant during walks but is making great progress. With patience and regular walks, he’ll be a wonderful walking buddy.Crate Training: Nick is doing well with crate training. He settles in easily for naps or overnight, and he’s quiet and calm when crated.Potty Training: Nick is well on his way to being fully potty trained. He’s had minimal accidents and is learning to ask to go outside.Nick is a sweet, gentle puppy who is looking for a calm and loving home where he can continue to grow and build his confidence. With a patient family who understands his shy nature, he’ll make a loyal and loving companion. Could you be the one to help Nick take the next step in his journey?
