Male Dog, Great Pyrenees

Great Pyrenees (Long Coat)

Description:

Henry is a handsome boy who gets along well with everyone. He is friendly with children, other dogs of any size (male and female), as well as cats. He even does well with the resident chickens. This medium-energy lad is housebroken, walks very well on leash, and is crate-trained. He comes when called and is extremely well behaved. Henry has a wonderful disposition and is an overall easy dog. This confident guy doesn’t dig or bark, and would enjoy a 4-foot fenced-in yard to play in. He was found tied to a pole in a parking lot, but his behavior in his foster home indicates he was well-loved and socialized. He enjoys riding in the car, going for walks, hanging out in the sunshine, and socializing - he is very friendly with people. He’s filling out and is expected to be about 75 pounds soon. If you have cheese, Henry will love you forever! It’s his favorite snack. He loves being inside and hanging out with his people. Said his foster Dad: “He is super sweet and just loves being with people and part of a pack. You can tell he was somebody’s baby.” If you’re looking for a fluffy cuddle-bug, Henry is your guy! - Written by M.M. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
