Female Dog, Great Pyrenees
Great Pyrenees (Long Coat)
Description:
Our beautiful Mako is looking for her furever home! If you are hoping for an independent pup to be your companion, Mako may be the pyrfect gal for you. This lovely lady checks all the boxes of a large guardian dog - not only is she highly independent, but she is also extremely loving and fiercely loyal. She may be young, but she takes her responsibilities very seriously. Yes yes yes, Mako knows you have a 6’ sturdy fence to keep intruders out, but you never know how sneaky some intruders can be, so it is therefore her responsibility to make sure every single corner and nook is checked and rechecked before she is satisfied with your safety. Oh, just in case, there is no harm in checking one last time before coming in to watch TV! Now don't worry that Mako is all work and no play, because this young girl is also a big fan of playing with her foster siblings! Other dogs? Absolutely! What about felines? As long as they are part of the household, Mako will treat them like family. She is timid of new people, but friends with dogs of all sizes. Mako is the pyrfect girl for a patient person who is looking for an independent thinker who also yearns to be loved and pampered (specifically, she’d like her people to spoil her with shredded fiesta-blend cheese!). If you open your heart and your home to Mako, we are pawsitive that she will be the most loyal pup you have ever met! Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We may consider fostering for some of our dogs who are in boarding. Please visit Fostering FAQfor an application and information about our fostering program.
