Location: NC Meet Maple – Your Future Cuddle Buddy! Age: Approx. 2 years old -- Kelpie/ACD mix Size: ~45 lbs Spayed & UTD Location: Raleigh, NC (open to out-of-state adopters) Maple is a sweetheart who just wants to love and be loved! Found in a shelter in western NC after being surrendered, she’s blossomed in her foster home and is now ready to find her forever family. Despite a tough start, she’s proving to be a loving and loyal companion who thrives on human affection. Maple is a Velcro dog – if you’re sitting down, she’ll be right there beside you, looking for a cuddle. She loves to wrap herself around you like a scarf, snuggling in for some quality bonding time. She has an easygoing nature and is quite gentle, though she’s a bit on the shy side until she gets comfortable. She has a blast when she’s in her element, bouncing around and eagerly asking for attention. She’s currently fostered with cats and she’s ignored them with little-to-no interest so far, she’s also been introduced to another male dog and is taking things slowly. She walks well with male dogs and has even gone on a 3-mile walk without issue. She does show some bone guarding behavior with other dogs, so a watchful eye is needed during chew sessions. Maple is a quiet and well-mannered house dog – she’s kenneled when not in the house or out for walks and doesn’t have accidents. She enjoys snuggling on her comfy blankets/bed and loves soft blankets. She’s not destructive, so she’ll happily curl up and relax.
