Attention: This is a courtesy posting only! These pets are NOT available through Mountain Pet Rescue. Please do NOT contact MPR for information about the pets or apply to adopt these pets on the MPR website. Contact 850-232-1266 or [email protected] for more information or to adopt the pets.SuSu (12 yrs, 13 lbs) and her daughter LuLu (10 yrs, 11lbs) are two sweet senior southern Chug (chi/pug) ladies looking for a nice quiet retirement home. Their wonderful life was turned upside-down when they lost their human Mom very unexpectedly about 6 months ago. These ladies have always been together, are very bonded and must be adopted together. They just recently (Nov 2023) had full wellness checks, including blood panels and dental cleanings, and are UTD on vaccinations, flea/HW prevention. They are both spayed and microchipped. They have no known allergies or health issues. SuSu does have some minor arthritis in her rear Rt leg from an old unknown injury (scar). She has just started on some mild arthritis meds and is feeling great!SuSu is very quiet, calm, sweet and affectionate. She has very soulful eyes and a charming personality that is sure to win you over. She just loves to chill with her human, watch TV, lay in the sun, snack, and enjoy life. She will flip herself onto her back for belly rubs without any encouragement. She has “retired” from being a typical Chihuahua.Lulu is super-goofy, equally charming, sweet and affectionate but still has a playful streak. If you softly blow in her face, she gets the ZOOMIES instantly and will have you howling with laughter at her antics. She has fluffy ears that flop around like wings when she is playful. She also loves to “bury” her toys and rearrange her bed/blankets. LuLu is more the protector and initially vocal at strangers, doorbells and sudden loud noises. She is part Chihuahua after all! They are good with other calm small dogs, but think they would really love to be your“princesses.” They are very cat-friendly. They are very food motivated (shocking I know). Both are very smart and take direction and correction quite well. They LOVE car rides, belly rubs, laying in the sunshine and of course all snacks! They are not fond of big dogs, active dogs, puppies, small children or really any crazy/busy households. They want to retire permanently from all things crazy! (Don’t we all!) Occasionally they are wary of new people but seem to overcome it very quickly with a little encouragement, sweet talk and kindness (aka a snack)! They both love laying in the sunshine and being with their people and LIVE to snuggle. Both will give tons of kisses, but LuLu is definitely the licker of the two! They like chewing on bully-sticks, watching TV, going for short walks and snacking (sense a theme?). Both girls will stand and dance on their hind legs for treats! They are excellent walking on a leash together (coupled). With a regular routine, they are 100% house-trained. They prefer a fenced yard (for doing their business), but are potty-pad trained, if need be. In their current foster home, they goout about every four hours during the day but can/will go longer without issue. They sleep together in their bed from 11pm-7am without getting up or making a peep. They also LOVE tosleep in bed, under the covers, with their humans. They are kennel-trained and sometimes sleep in it during the day (open)… but it is really not necessary. They are not destructive oruntrustworthy at all and have no issue, being left alone together, unsupervised.Contact [email protected] or 850-232-1266 today to learn more or meet these cute Chugs! All Mountain Pet Rescue (Asheville) animals are up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and micro-chipped before adoption. Contact the foster parent or Mountain Pet Rescue at [email protected] for more information. Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label. Mountain Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax deductible charity (EIN 82-3039637) located in Asheville, NC.
