Description:
Willow is looking for her forever home to continue living her best life ever! Please submit an application today for her. The link is: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC. Willow is a loving, gentle soul with a heart full of resilience. She was found in a heartbreaking condition in a quiet area of southern Lee County, NC, weighing only 40lbs and showing the scars of severe neglect. Since being rescued and receiving the care she desperately needed, Willow has thrived! With careful attention and proper feeding, she’s now at a healthy 65lbs and ready for her forever home. She is estimated to be 8-10 years old. Despite her rough past, Willow is a sweet and friendly companion who loves everyone she meets. She gets along well with her foster family, including the four playful dogs and one cat she shares her home with. She shows no interest in the chickens or wildlife in the backyard, proving her calm and easy-going nature. Willow experienced severe neglect in her earlier years, which led to very mild but irreparable kidney damage. Thankfully, her condition is being managed with medication, and she is doing well. Like most stray dogs, she has heartworm and is also undergoing treatment for that (not contagious) and is expected to make a full recovery. Willow is house-trained, walks beautifully on a leash without pulling, and has excellent house manners. Though she’s still being crate-trained, she sleeps soundly through the night and appreciates a treat when it’s time to go in. Willow would do best in a calm, stable environment, ideally with an owner who works from home, is retired, or has a flexible schedule. She enjoys quiet time, gentle walks, and the occasional meander around a secure, fenced yard. She would also do well in an apartment, given her calm and quiet demeanor. Willow’s gentle spirit and loving nature make her the perfect companion for a family, couple, or individual looking for a devoted, easy-going friend. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate dog to join your family, Willow just might be the one!
