Hi there, my name is Cookie! I am a friendly and affectionate pup who loves eating yummy treats and making friends! The shelter can be a bit overwhelming for me, and I appreciate when people take things slow with me at first to allow me some time to warm up. But once I have warmed up, I would love to be your best friend! Like many dogs in NC, I am currently heartworm positive. OCAS will be helping by beginning my treatment but you'll need to follow up with your veterinarian! During treatment I will be on an oral medication and will need to get a topical solution monthly until I have a Negative Heartworm Test. If you have any questions about this please ask to speak with a member of the medical staff.I am currently available in my foster home.
