Keep calm and woof on.

Male Dog, Labrador Retriever
Labrador Retriever (Medium Coat)
Description:
Please Contact Foster At: [email protected] is a very sweet and curious red lab mix. Heâs a little shy at first but warms up quickly. He is about 2 years old and 50lbs. He is fully vetted, has a neuter appointment scheduled for 2/25, is potty trained, and we are working on his crate training and basic obedience commands. He doesnât mind other dogs but requires a slow introduction. He currently lives with 2 foster siblings and once heâs had a slow introduction, he is very playful and enjoys zooming around the yard with them. He walks well on a harness but will require continued leash training as he does pull a little bit. Heâs a great passenger in the car and likes to rest his head on your shoulder while you drive. Max has met kids and enjoys their company and protects them. He has not been cat tested but has a high prey drive around squirrels and birds, so it is not recommended he be around them. While Max is very calm around the house and a medium energy level, he does have some separation anxiety and has a loud bark when he is left outside for too long or in the crate (he calms down after a little bit). He has not been destructive and only plays with dog toys. He is happy to go on long walks, play with other dogs, or snooze at your feet while you work. Because of his vocalness and prey drive, it is not recommended he live in an apartment, he will require a fenced-in backyard and would do well with a fur sibling or as an only dog.The ideal family for Max is active, loving, and patient. You must be willing to put in the time and resources to continue training him. Max is a wonderful young dog who is ready to move on to his forever home. He is being fostered in Charlotte, NC. If you think Max is the guy for you please send an email to [email protected] with details about the home environment you would be able to provide him to see if you would be a good fit.
