If you're interested in adopting any SGSR dog, please read about our Adoption Process and fill out an Adoption Application. Visit our website for more information, including Frequently Asked Questions. Hey! It’s Odin! Odin and his siblings were born into an unfortunate outdoor environment where they were ultimately deemed unwelcome at a very young age (I know, I’m still baffled, too), and forced away from their mama early. With the help of SGSR, loving fosters, and lots of goat’s milk, these puppies are now healthy, happy, thriving bundles of cuteness. This big baby boy is as sweet as can be. He’s goofy, curious, confident, clumsy, playful and smart as a whip. Odin would be in his glory just following you around all day, with frequent nap and potty breaks of course, but also does well in his crate when you need to be away. He has loved every human, dog, and even cat that he has encountered here at our home. At roughly 9 weeks old, he is all puppy. If it can fit in his mouth, he makes sure it gets there. If it doesn’t fit, he certainly still tries. He is a truly wonderful boy that is actively looking for cuddles, treats, and guidance. Although it has never looked so cute for a football cleat to go loping through the living room in the mouth of a floppy eared ball of mischief, he is learning that acts such as these, although exciting, are frowned upon by both the humans in the house, as well as the resident senior shepherd. He wants to please, and is looking for consistency. Consistency in helping him to perfect the act of pottying on his puppy pad or outside, and consistency in greeting by sitting and not by jumping. Consistency in teaching what he should explore with his mouth, and what is better to explore just with his nose, and consistency in socialization so that he can continue to love those that he encounters in addition to the permanent residents in his home. He has progressed in all of these areas while with me, but he needs someone that understands that he is at the very beginning of his training journey and is willing to keep this progress moving in a positive direction; which takes time, effort, patience, love, and you guessed it: consistency. This good boy deserves the world, let’s help him find it. Odin is up to date on his age appropriate wormings, preventatives, and vaccines, and is available to adopt through Southeast German Shepherd Rescue. He is currently being fostered in Currituck, NC.
