Male Dog, Pit Bull Terrier
Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed
Description:
Pickles would relish someone teaching him all the things good dogs learn! He seems to be a quick learner and would be a fun partner in dog classes. Pickles looooves to play with other dogs and the patient ones are coaching him on manners. He was a stray with a broken front leg (older break) and over-compensated on his other one - but both are healed. He still has a lot of bouncing puppy energy, doesn't seem to be mouthy unless you count him barking when he wants something (attention?). But if you don't give in to him - you can almost see him thinking and stop barking, "Oh, I need to stop!" Pickles takes his treats with a soft gentle mouth, walks along with you pretty well on a leash and harness. (That puppy energy makes him want to chew his leash though - it is just irresistible hanging in front of his face!) Pickles knows if he sits - he gets a treat. What else...oh he has the drive to learn! Pickles enjoys tummy rubs and neck scratches as rewards. You got some cheese - You have a friend in Pickles! Those who are confirmed over 4 months old or older will have their rabies vaccinations. Age permitting, dogs/puppies are tested for heartworm disease. Cats/kittens are tested (and are negative) for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV). All are treated with flea/tick prevention and given internal parasite preventative on a regular basis. All are microchipped (for their safety and the adopter's peace of mind) as part of the adoption fee. Learn more about our Adoption Information here and fill out an application here.
