Male Dog, Chihuahua
Chihuahua / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
Rex is a 1-year-old, 15lb brown and white Chihuahua mix. Rex came from an unfortunate hoarding situation and was thankfully rescued by our team. Due to him being in that situation he is very shy at first and finds comfort in the other dogs around him. Rex is doing well at his foster home with some structure and is completely housebroken. He's showing that he's playful with all dogs after some introductions and loves to run around but then will relax quietly afterwards. Since he is fearful, he is scared to be crated right now but stays in a play pen when needing to be left alone. Rex will need someone patient who can look beyond his trauma and see the potential for the great dog he can be. Rex would do best in a home with other dogs and needs a fenced in yard so that he can run around and play while he learns how to be on a leash. Do you think that you can give Rex the life and love he deserves? If so, please apply online at www.crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!
