He loves to be loved on. He loves his stuffed animals and taking them on walks (which is so cute). Jedi is highly energetic and very friendly which means he can get overwhelmed. We're working on staying calm and proper manners since he can get jumpy and mouthy when over excited. Jedi gets along well with our dog at home. He's fully potty trained; we've never had a marking issue with him in the house. Jedi does go into the kennel while we're at work, but may complain a bit about it before settling in. Jedi is such a sweetheart. We hope he finds his forever family soon because he deserves all the love. Volunteer Feedback 6/23/24: (Edit 6/26/24 - Jedi has a foster now, but is still available for adoption!) Jedi here to remind you that I am still staying at the rescue's shelter! If I am here on the 4th of July I will have stayed at the shelter for two months. I am very hopeful to celebrate my Independence day before the rest of the USA. I would even be supremely happy to find a foster home. Don't forget I am a very handsome man with curly piggy-tail, and also that fostering me is a no expense proposition. I am ever so happy to get to see the volunteers when they come to tend to my basic needs and I love each and every one of them so much, however I would like to bundle all that love for one family. When I first arrived at the shelter I had trouble holding my urine in between shifts, now I am very good at doing that and keeping my shelter kennel spotless. The volunteers have been doing what they can to enrich my life but I can really tell how much more relaxed I am away from the shelter, when I have gotten to go on little shelter breaks with the volunteers. I very much enjoy wrestling with other dogs and would love a play dog buddy but would do just fine with dedicated human time to work on my brain and keep my body exercised. I will include a picture or two of me playing with my good rescue friend "Tennis." Well I suppose it is getting close to shelter bedtime, hopefully there won't be too many more lonely shelter nights in my future. Volunteer Feedback 6/6/24: I got the chance to take Jedi on an outing yesterday and he was the sweetest boy! At the beginning of the shift he was a bit of a punk, but he got some good decompression time and he was a whole different dog. When we got back from our outing we went for a walk and only got mouthy when we rounded the corner away from the building, almost like he was trying to say "I'm done, I need a snack and a nap." We went back to the building and he was well behaved through the rest of the night. Sitter Feedback 6/4/24: I got to spend the day with Jedi and take him on some errands! First stop was home depot and he was very calm strolling around. He was well behaved when the workers wanted to give him treats. Next stop was Petco and he was interested in toys but didn't mind being directed by me when we needed to leave his new favorite aisle. Then, we headed to Joann's fabric store and oh my lord he surprised me. The good boy laid down when I was taking too long looking for the right blanket. Again, while waiting for the blanket to get cut, he laid down or sat down next to me even though people were walking by. He was very calm in the car and loved the window! He would be a wonderful companion and deserves a loving home! Building Volunteer Feedback 5/11/24: Jedi is an out-of-this-world pup! He enjoys walking while simultaneously playing with a tug toy, never being far, far away from your side. Although he can sometimes get mouthy and hold onto your sleeve, he is quickly learning to end this behavior and redirects almost instantaneously with a treat or toy alternative. He is working on several cues and has “sit” and “come” nailed. He is not much of a fan of fetch, but he adores tug and playing with a flirt pole. This Jedi-in-training continues his search for the perfect Jedi Master. To view additional dogs available for adoption, please see our website: www.4luvofdog.org
