Male Dog, Beagle

Beagle (Short Coat)

Description:

SLIM is a sweet older beagle boy who was destined for euthanasia after landing in a rural shelter in rough shape. We are so glad we were able to save this sweet gentle guy. He's about 8 years old and 26 pounds. Slim is a low key guy who loves to cuddle. He's housebroken and crate trained, fine with kids and other dogs. He's not particularly interested in other dogs, we believe he'd be perfectly fine as an only dog. Slim tested positive for heartworms and is currently undergoing treatment. He poses no threat to the health of other dogs in the home. Left untreated, heartworm disease kills dogs. PLEASE keep your dog on a heartworm prevention plan as prescribed by your veterinarian. Slim will go to a furever home for an extended trial period, his adoption will not be finalized until his treatment is complete. He must go to a home in greater Cincinnati, his treatment will take place at our vet's office in Batavia. If you'd like to meet Slim, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
