Please contact Sally ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.Ok here's sweet Ethel back to OBHR and hoping 3rd time is the charm! She is about 2 1/2 years old and she came to OBHR originally after being relinquished by her original owner who was having medical issues. She came to us with her housemate Fred who has since been adopted and she and Fred were the parents of the puppies we had available a little over a year ago. Since being with OBHR she has been adopted out twice, but has come back because she is possessive of the humans towards other dogs in the house. That being said she loves to play with other dogs so she is good around them and will have no issue going to a home where she will visit other dogs and go to dog parks, however we are leery about placing her in a home with other dogs. She is currently being fostered in a home with other dogs and her foster mom has had a few issues with her growling when she is on the couch with her and another one of the dogs tries to jump up, however her Foster Mom is very good about nipping that in the bud and not letting it escalate. She would very much love to keep Ethel, however she already has four dogs of her own. We would like Ethel to go to a home with someone who has owned basset hounds before and knows their personality. We would also love For her to be adopted out as an only dog so we do not have to worry about her being returned again. We would very much prefer she go to a home with a fenced in yard and she loves to run and burn off her energy. Because of her being so energetic, any children in the home will need to be at least 10 years old. Ethel is housebroken and knows how to use a dog door, and she does ignore the cats in her foster home. She is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati area.
