Meet Brown Dog: Abandoned in The Brown Center parking lot, Brown Dog’s past is a mystery, but one thing’s for sure—he’s a Very Good Boy with a huge heart. This handsome Shepherd mix is strong and determined on the leash, but with just a few minutes of practice, he’s already showing how smart he is, learning to walk with a loose leash. We’re working with him daily on his leash manners, and he’s picking up cues quickly! Update: He stills pulls on the leash! He’s already started prescription treatments, and he’ll return to the vet on December 16, 2024, to begin his heartworm treatment journey. While his recovery will take time, we’re committed to seeing him through every step of it. Despite all he’s been through, Brown Dog remains happy, affectionate, and always eager for treats and human attention. We went for a car ride today & the teller at the bank drive-through gave him a treat. This routine will continue until January 20, 2025, when he returns to the vet for another heartworm treatment. January 17, 2025 Update: Brown Dog's Heartworm Journey Brown Dog is making great progress! He just completed his first round of heartworm treatment, finishing his last dose of medication yesterday.
