Male Dog,
Unknown Breed (Short Coat)
Description:
At about 7.5 years old, Chico is the perfect mix of chill and charming. He recently had dental surgery and now has just one tooth left—don’t worry, it hasn’t slowed him down at all (especially when cheese is involved). He’s a total sweetheart who loves belly rubs, cozy blankets, short walks, and hanging out nearby—he’s just now starting to spend more time out of his crate and on the couch with his foster humans and dog sibling, especially if some yummy snacks or his favorite blanket comes along. Chico is a sensitive small guy who thrives in a calm, predictable home. Loud noises and new situations can make him nervous, but once he settles into a routine, his sweet personality really starts to shine. He’s making steady progress each day—now coming out of shell, and warming up to being a bit more adventurous. Chico is great with kids, has lived peacefully with cats, and also coexists calmly with other dogs (he and his foster sister Lucy mostly ignore each other). He’s house trained, crate-trained, and well-behaved when left alone. Chico also LOVES going for walks—but he’ll let you know when he’s done and ready to go home for more of his beloved naps. Meals are still a bit of a work in progress since he can be a picky eater, but hey, everyone’s got their thing, right? Chico is a particular boy with a gentle soul, and he’s looking for someone patient and kind who can meet him where he’s at and provide encouragement. If you’re into quiet mornings, soft blankets, belly rubs, and tiny victories, Chico might just be your perfect match. He’s a loyal little companion who’s learning to trust and open up—and once he does, you’ll have a devoted sidekick for life!
