Male Dog,
Unknown Breed (Medium Coat)
Description:
Meet Ziggy & Girlie – like potato chips, you can’t have just one! Ziggy & Girlie are a bonded pair of professional snugglers looking for a home together. These two are the ultimate couch potatoes, happiest when curled up next to each other (or right on top of you). They were surrendered to the city shelter after their owner moved and could no longer keep them, but through it all, they’ve remained the sweetest, most loving duo. Now, they’re searching for a forever home where they can spend the rest of their golden years. Before coming to PAWS, Ziggy & Girlie lived with cats and did well with them, so they would likely be fine in a home with feline friends. They also previously lived with a child and did well under supervision, but they do startle easily, so a home with calm, respectful kids who understand their need for space would be the best fit. Ziggy is the more outgoing of the two, always checking in on Girlie and making sure she’s okay. He loves attention, face kisses, and “supervising” all household activities—especially if it involves snuggling on the couch. If you pick him up, don’t worry—he’ll insist you bring Girlie, too! Girlie is a little more low-key, but just as affectionate. She gives quiet, longing looks when she wants attention and will slowly scoot closer to you (or Ziggy) for snuggles. She’s got the perfect "just got out of bed, but about to go back in" energy, always ready to lounge. Though these two are certified in the fine art of taking things easy, they also love their daily walks and will zoom around with bursts of energy before settling back in for a long nap. Ziggy leads the way, while Girlie follows his confident cues. They thrive on routine and enjoy their meals together—though Ziggy has been known to try and sneak a bite of Girlie’s food! They will also happily alert you if someone’s at the door. This pair has been through a lot of recent change and will need a little help settling into a new routine and rhythm, but they’ll be sure to reward you with plenty of naps, cuddles, and unconditional love. Ziggy and Girlie are inseparable, sweet, and full of love—they just need a family who can embrace their snuggly senior lifestyle. Could that be you?
