Age: 1 year Size: 55 lbs Estimated breed: Pit bull/Am Staffordshire terrier Perfect home: At least one other resident dog Sister was surrendered to an overcrowded, rural shelter along with her sister, who was nursing five newborn babies, and an adult male dog. Sister was the most terrified of the whole group and sat shaking like a statue at the back of her kennel. She was in what we call shelter shock - surrounded on all sides by barking dogs, with nothing but a cold, hard floor to lay on, without the comfort of her doggie family. Dogs like Sister do not survive in a shelter environment for long, so we jumped into action and got her into the safety of a foster home in PA! Sister is quite simply, a perfect dog. She is very shy and timid at first meeting with people but opens up very quickly and bonds strongly to her people! She shares her foster home with cats and dogs and does amazing with them. Doggie pals give her confidence, so she'd do best in a home with at least one other friendly dog for her to bond with. One look into her soulful eyes and you'll fall in love with Sister just like we have. We can't wait to see her in a loving forever home with a family who will love her unconditionally!
