Penelope - nickname Penny is a resilient 1-year-old lab mix and a true distemper survivor. Unfortunately, after a difficult experience in a new place, she became much more fearful and wary. Now, even on walks, she constantly looks behind her, and small things—like a flag waving in the wind—can make her nervous. We care deeply for Penny, and she is incredibly attached to us, but her anxiety makes it hard for her to attend events or meet new people. She needs a calm, stable environment with someone who will be patient and committed to helping her feel safe and loved. Ideally, this person would have a high-fenced yard where she can relax and take her time adjusting, building a bond slowly and thoughtfully. Giving up on Penny isn’t an option for us; she deserves someone who will go above and beyond for her.
