Cheeto Chip -- MEET ME!
Status: Last posted as 'available' on 10/30/24

Male Dog, Terrier

Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

If not adopted beforehand, this dog will attend the Super Dog Adoption Event on Saturday, November 2nd at Clark Farms in Matunuck, RI. Learn more about this event and sign up for 10am Early Entry HERE Age: 2 months (as of 10/25/24) Weight: 10.2 lbs (as of 10/30/24) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. There are just some pups that are even more delicious than your favorite snacks. May we offer you some Chips? Meet Cheeto, proud member of the Chip litter (7 puppies total, all available for adoption through SOS)! These pups are 2-month-old Terrier mixes that are so cute, you may just want to eat them all up (but don’t actually). As you would expect with any puppies, these guys are playful, affectionate, outgoing, gentle, and quiet. They fill their days with many hobbies, including playing with toys, playing chase, and wrestling, but they also enjoy a healthy dose of cuddling throughout the day. The Chip litter is hard at work on crate, house, and leash training, and they already do well crated in the car. We strongly recommend that all of our puppies attend obedience training to learn commands, develop confidence, and socialize with other dogs. Think Cheeto would make the perfect addition to your family? Fill out an application to let him know! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. Medical Note: A littermate of this dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. As there is thought to potentially be a genetic component to predisposition to this condition, this dog has been preventatively treated though does not currently show any bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (e.g., transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc.). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange, and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
