Female Dog, Black Mouth Cur
Black Mouth Cur / Mountain Cur / Mixed (Short Coat)
Description:
If not adopted beforehand, this dog will attend the Super Dog Adoption Event on Saturday, November 2nd at Clark Farms in Matunuck, RI. Learn more about this event and sign up for 10am Early Entry HERE Age: 9 months (as of 10/11/24) Weight: 37 pounds (as of 9/17/24) Location: RI Dasha is available for adoption to Massachusetts residents, as well as those in the other New England states. This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Dasha is a sweet and affectionate girl who loves spending time with her people. She is the ultimate cuddle bug! She is slowly gaining life experiences and was unfortunately bounced around without a predictable routine before coming to Rhode Island. She is now in a stable foster home and thriving. She would do best in a home without little kids. She likes meeting other dogs, both big and small. She lived with a cat in her Southern foster home, but we have not seen her with cats since being in Rhode Island. Dasha would love a fenced yard where she can play and run and think she would love having another dog sibling. She is housetrained and sleeps in her crate at night but really doesn't love her crate during the day. She is very food motivated and loves working with the trainer to learn new skills and build her confidence. We strongly encourage basic obedience training for all our dogs, as it not only helps your dog blossom into a well-balanced canine citizen with good manners, but it also helps to form a lasting bond between your dog and the humans in your family. Dasha is an active and happy girl who just wants a loving forever home. Can you make her dream come true? Fill out an application today and let her know that you'd love to have her join your family! Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. The dog has responded well to this treatment and is ready for adoption, though may still have some bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org) **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
